

Mark Bauman - Fishing Guide Michigan
Mark has been an avid fisherman ever since he was a child fishing on Rollway Lake at Mid Forrest Lodge, located near Meredith Michigan, for largemouth bass and northern pike. At age 10 he also started fishing the Saginaw River and Kawkawlin Rivers for Catfish, Carp, Walleye and Perch. The years of fishing his home waters in the Bay City and Saginaw area, have honed Mark’s skills at finding fish even under tough conditions.
Mark was introduced to the upper Manistee when he and a couple of friends started fly fishing the upper Manistee River for Brown Trout and Brook Trout. Mark has been addicted ever since, and has worked hard to understand what it takes to hook the best fish in the river year after year. he was fortunate early on to have made friends with Bamboo rod maker and owner of Hexagon rod and Fly shop Jerry Pytlik , Jerry being a Master of Dry fly fishing taught him early the tricks of the trade and inspired him to be a great dry fly artist.
Since those early days mark has been tutored in the art of Fly fishing by some of Best and most cutting edge guides in the industry and has used that knowledge to hone his skills on countless miles of the Upper and Lower Manistee River, the Betsie river, the famous Pere Marquette river on the west side of the state of Michigan. On the east side of Michigan, mark spends a great amount of time fishing in Lake Huron and tributaries like the AuSable river and Rifle Rivers. Mark also spends many hours fly fishing for Pike and Largemouth Bass on the Kawkawlin River and Ice Fishing and drift boat fishing for Perch and walleye on the Saginaw River and Saginaw Bay areas in his hometown of Bay City Michigan.
During the summer months he spends a good amount of time on Grand Traverse Bay looking for Smallmouth bass and massive Carp on the flats of Grand Traverse. One of mark’s favorite summer activities is to wake mouse patterns for trophy browns on the area rivers at night!
